Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are often referred to by the nickname “Mormon” because they use a volume of scripture known as the Book of Mormon for personal study, as well as in their teaching of the gospel. The Book of Mormon is exactly what its title proclaims – Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Latter-day Saints testify that the Book of Mormon is comparable to the Holy Bible in that both volumes testify of Jesus Christ, His infinite love for all humanity, and the fact that He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. The Book of Mormon is not used as a substitute for the Bible, but rather it enhances the scriptures that are found in the Bible. Latter-day Saints further testify that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the Word of God.
